About

Mission

On behalf of the PTSA, I would like to welcome you to Montgomery High School! Whether this is your first year or your last, we hope that you and your children have a great experience at MHS. You and your child will find a wide array of activities and events to participate in within the school and the community. Getting involved is one of the best ways to acclimate to a new school environment. As a parent, we hope that you will consider joining the PTSA. Your membership dollars help us fund various activities that support and enhance the school experience for students, staff, and parents. Your time and skills give us the manpower and expertise we need to run all of our events. Our membership drive is our only fundraiser so this allows us to use our time to focus on specific activities that actively support the school community. We enjoy what we do and we would love for you to join us!

There are many ways that you can be involved in the PTSA. My first suggestion is to attend at least one General Membership meeting this year. We meet at 9:00 am, usually on the second Thursday of each month. At these meetings, not only do you hear about the latest PTSA news and events; but you also hear from the principal on the current projects and initiatives in the school. At most meetings, you will also hear from our student reps and get their perspective on the school experience. We also want to hear from you! Participating in a meeting allows you to make your voice heard and that is a very important part of our mission. Attending meetings gives you a much better insight into the overall school environment.

My second suggestion is to sign up for our weekly PTSA E-newsletter. You may do that by clicking the NEWSLETTER button at the bottom of the page. Our E-news gives you the latest updates on school and community events, as well as the direct line to all PTSA news and volunteer opportunities. If you can make time for only one thing, I strongly encourage you to sign up for and read this email each week.

My third suggestion is to say “yes”. Saying “yes” to a new activity or volunteer opportunity gives you a chance to become an active part of the school community. You may decided to chair a committee, bake or cook for a school event, chaperone, attend a meeting, offer financial support, suggest a new activity, or work the after school snack sales. Whatever you choose to do helps you to become connected and helps us to continue our mission of supporting the school. We truly believe that we are “Stronger Together”!

Please consider us a resource as you and your children make your way through MHS. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Best of luck to you as you start this new school year!
